Sinead is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for General Practice in Aalborg, Department of Clinical Medicine Aalborg University, and Guest Researcher at SMI, Department of Health Science and Technology, Aalborg University. She is the co-founder and research co-ordinator of the OptiYouth Research Group (for ‘optimising physical health in youth’).
Her research aims to understand musculoskeletal injuries and pain in youth, and to identify those at increased risk for developing chronic musculoskeletal problems, with a view to optimising prevention and treatment to keep kids healthy and active.
Her long-term aim is to improve health and functional capacity across the lifespan, by focussing on musculoskeletal disorders and activity during this key developmental period. She has been an invited speaker at national and international Sported Medicine Conferences and published in leading journals within Pain Science and Sport Sciences (e.g. British Journal of Sports Medicine and PAIN).
